New Artificial Bone Made of Wood

Every now and then, we often see new discoveries or inventions. Well here's one that will certainly cause you to stop and think for a minute. To preserve the accuracy of the information, I decided to write the exact words as written in the said news:

Human Skeleton Discovery News Video

Aug. 10, 2009 -- A new procedure to turn blocks of wood into artificial bones has been developed by Italian scientists, who plan to implant them into large animals, and eventually humans.
Wood-derived bone substitute should allow live bones to heal faster and more securely after a break than currently available metal and ceramic implants.
The researchers chose wood because it closely resemble the physical structure of natural bone, "which is impossible to reproduce with conventional processing technology."
"Our purpose is to convert native wood structures into bioactive, inorganic compounds destined to substitute portions of bone," said Anna Tampieri, a scientist at the Instituto Di Scienza E Techologia Dei Materiali Ceramici in Italy.
To create the bone substitute, the scientists start with a block of wood -- red oak, rattan and sipo work best -- and heat it until all that remains is pure carbon, which is basically charcoal.

President Cory's Humility

Majority of the people in the Philippines are affected by the passing away of President Cory Aquino. About the latter's personal information, it is not necessary that I should pour in details that a reader can easily find somewhere else. For me, I better focus on the aspect of a character almost everyone admire in her. President Cory is a respectable lady, religious and has a love for people in general. However, one character stands out from the many good traits she already got. It is her humbleness. For the individuals who followed her life in the printed page, and also to friends and aquaintances who knew her in person. All will say in chorus that Cory is a humble person. It is my wish and prayer that coming presidents should develop the spirit of humility, with that, they will surely be remembered even after their lives on earth are exhausted. For President Cory, thank you for sharing your life in the pages of Philippine history.

Is this a real picture?

The personalities in this picture are known and highly respected in the Philippines. However, I could hardly determine if this photo is real or not, because computer experts can easily attach different faces into different bodies. However, if this is a real picture, then the two might be classmates in their younger days.

Never use failure as an excuse for not trying again, We may not be able to undo the damage or reverse the consequences, but we can always make a new start.

Life ends when you stop dreaming, Hope ends when you stop believing and friendship ends when you stop sharing.

Be Creative

Life is full of pressures, specially to those who have a family to feed and support. Sometimes, they tend to forget, that there are unique ways to relax and let the heat of responsibilities cool down a bit. Look at this image, it looks like a plastic, but it is not. Well, before you try to guess what it really is, I must instantly tell you instead. The objects in the image are cookies. Yes, cookies that kids love to eat. You see, cookies in general can be baked with simplicity, but if a person is creative, then he or she can let it appear in a more enticing manner. It is also true in other things, you can change your approach a little bit, and get better results than the usual one.

Are you free?

While enjoying the cool breeze of an afternoon wind. My eyes caught the lovely figures inside a cage. They seemed to enjoy as if not knowing that they were inside a wired box. Oh how I wish I can feel what they felt. The feeling of freedom. Is freedom the absence of restriction? what do you think? Well, I am not a philosopher, and I admit that knowing the details of it is none of my forte. Ok, back to the question-are you free? The answer to it is, it depends. for me, am free in some aspects, but a prisoner in other situations. Just like the birds, they were happy because they were stress free, but they are not free to fly.

Michael Jackson is just a man

After reading the news that Michael Jackson passed away, I felt a feeling that I often feels during the times when friends left this earth for good. Michael Jackson though how extraordinary he is in his talent, is still a man. Meaning, is not exempt to experience death. Sometimes people forget that they are still human; specially when they are at the peak of success enjoying the privileges it offers. The word of God says "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the WHOLE WORLD and lose his own soul". It is indeed a fact, that all of us will become a part of the memory lane. We often remember God in bad times, let us remember God also in good times.
