While sitting somewhere in a public waiting shed, I overheard two individuals in a conversation. They were talking about opportunities. One commented by saying "some have time and skill but no opportunity; while some have an opportunity but skill and time to use for it." It is indeed true. Few Days to Live

While listening to a religious sermon, a preacher told the listeners that our days are fewer than expected. I could not fully understand what he was saying, until after he showed a computation of the days a person will have until the age of 70. Well, indeed it is few, in fact, a little shocking. A person will only have 25,550 days. That is, if we can reach 70. now, if you are in your 20's or 30's how many days do you think will you still have to live? It is important that we live our life the right way. We cannot bring back the time and become young again. Let us live our life the way God wants it to be lived.

Free To Believe

You and I have a belief of some sort. It means we believe something beyond the physical aspect of things, we have that part of ourselves that clings to the spiritual realm. Religion has been with us for a thousand years, and because of its variations, a debate will occur every now and then. Well, we can avoid the latter ( debate ), tell a person who has the argumentative mood to be calm, and that you want to study spiritual things in your own way. Meaning, self-study. Tell him that incase you want his idea or opinion, you will inform him. If you want to learn what a Baptist believe or what an adventist believe or what a catholic believe - ask them, take note, read their books...that way, you will avoid any argument and learn much as well. Remember, you are free to believe what you feel the truth is. Others based their belief in a book called the book of Mormons, others based it on another. For me, I chose the Bible to be my basis of belief, and I have reasons for that too.

Word of Honor

I had a bad experience, this particular incident was real. I sold an item long time ago. I wanted to part with the said item, not because I don't want it, but because I really need money. The buyer agreed to pay the item with a good price. However, after giving me half of the price, the buyer told me that he is experiencing a financial crisis, and as a result he could no longer pay the installments with the amount agreed upon. I have no other choice but to accept his presentation. The truth is, he made it to take advantage of my kindness. Word of honor now a days has reduced its influence. If you are reading this article, guard yourself by not yielding easily to good offers. Specially, if the said offer is guaranteed only by the said word of honor. A verse from the Bible says " Be wise as a serpent and harmless like a dove".

I Miss Our Dog

Five months ago, our family was contemplating of getting a pet. We don't have anything in mind except a puppy. My brother in law wasted no time and tried to find one. He found one, and we named him Maccoy. He was a playful puppy and every morning, he would come to me, wag his tail and lick my shoes. The kids at the house ( two girls and a boy - children of my sister ) loved Maccoy, the latter is not just a joy to behold but like a toy to cuddle as well. I thought we will enjoy Maccoy's company for a long time. Two days ago, we observed something about Maccoy's actions. He doesn't want to eat as usual, and I can see weakness and tiredness in his eyes. When he looked at me, I can feel that he is in pain. My brother in law went to a veterinary doctor, and Mccoy got his injection. However, yesterday...our cute dog stopped breathing. We have to accept the fact that Mccoy is gone. I am not really fond of dogs like others, but losing Maccoy really touched me. If you have a pet at home, try to take good care of them. Enjoy them while there is an opportunity, you will never know how long will they be staying with you. ( I post a picture of Maccoy for you to see )

I almost forgot that time is running

Now a days people around the world are busy. In fact, I myself forgot many times that time is running. When I watch a good movie, listen to beautiful songs on cd or express an idea in writing, I seldom notice that time is running. It is important to note that fact, because many times we just take it for granted. If we know the value of time, we can accomplish a lot. When you are in a hurry, you can do a lot of things than when you are idle. I encourage you to feel the value of time, your day will be a fruitful one if you do.

Remembering the past

Everyone of us has a past, rich and poor, beautiful and ugly, no matter who we are, we all have a past. Look at your skin, look at your wallet, look at your friends, look at the house you are living, many have changed. Why is that? well, it is because life is a constant change. We don't know if the change in the future will favor us or not. However, if you believe in God, then for sure you know one thing that never change, it is God. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He is always there to help you. If your past is bad and you are now enjoying life, thank God for it. If your past is good and you are now experiencing pain, get closer to God, the latter can fix things up and can change your life for the better.

The future is unpredictable, but not for Binay

There is a saying that says "If you don't believe in yourself, how can you expect others to believe you?". Jejomar Binay, a famous philippine mayor based in Makati, has just won the second highest position available in the country, that of a vice president. During the counting, the lead is clear, it is Binay whom fate embraced strongly with a grip of victory. Binay believed in his God given talent to lead, he proved it the first time when running as a mayor; now, he proved it the second time when running as a vice president.

A friend

Each of us has a friend, no matter what kind of a person we are, we all have friends. Friends are not the same in degree, we have those close friends we consider special and also some friends we treat as casual.
