I am really grateful for this modern invention, the internet. Before, I could hardly get something to read without paying much. Now, anyone can just surf the internet and get thousands of e-books to read. Gone are the days when choosing a book to read will take a person 20 minutes or more. Today, a five-minute search is all a person needs to get that book to read. That is, online. People at this time are really fortunate. Reading is a good way to feed our minds, let us read always.

It is good to celebrate it forever; but sad to say, not all of us can , for after a year passed, some will certainly leave this earth for good. However, let us not worry about that unintentional departure, everyone has his day for that. What is important is to make use of the days given for us to live. How to Write a Good Headline

In newspapers, as well as in articles that dominates magazines online and offline, a headline is very important. Why is it important? Because a headline is a major factor for people to read the rest of the information presented. In a promotional letter, ninety percent of its success depends on a good headline. The question is, how can a person write a good headline? The answer is, by touching the emotions of the readers. Creating a headline that elicit an emotional response, is the way it should be written. Generally speaking, if a person has the capacity to purchase something, then that person is prone to buy what he wants than what he needs. Now, how can that “want” inside the reader be increased? The answer is, by projecting an irresistible image and feeling in his mind. The purpose of this, is not only for the reader to read, but to feel it. Filipinos are known for its survival skill. They can adjust to almost any obstacle that life may place in front of them. Most of them are kind and generous; in fact, It is easy for them to hand thirty to fifty pesos to a person in dire need. Sad to say, that liberality in giving could not last long in few cases. Few Days to Live

While listening to a religious sermon, a preacher told the listeners that our days are fewer than expected. I could not fully understand what he was saying, until after he showed a computation of the days a person will have until the age of 70. Well, indeed it is few, in fact, a little shocking. A person will only have 25,550 days. That is, if we can reach 70. now, if you are in your 20's or 30's how many days do you think will you still have to live? It is important that we live our life the right way. We cannot bring back the time and become young again. Let us live our life the way God wants it to be lived.

Free To Believe

You and I have a belief of some sort. It means we believe something beyond the physical aspect of things, we have that part of ourselves that clings to the spiritual realm. Religion has been with us for a thousand years, and because of its variations, a debate will occur every now and then. Well, we can avoid the latter ( debate ), tell a person who has the argumentative mood to be calm, and that you want to study spiritual things in your own way. Meaning, self-study. Tell him that incase you want his idea or opinion, you will inform him. If you want to learn what a Baptist believe or what an adventist believe or what a catholic believe - ask them, take note, read their books...that way, you will avoid any argument and learn much as well. Remember, you are free to believe what you feel the truth is. Others based their belief in a book called the book of Mormons, others based it on another. For me, I chose the Bible to be my basis of belief, and I have reasons for that too.

I had a bad experience, this particular incident was real. I sold an item long time ago. I wanted to part with the said item, not because I don't want it, but because I really need money. The buyer agreed to pay the item with a good price. However, after giving me half of the price, the buyer told me that he is experiencing a financial crisis, and as a result he could no longer pay the installments with the amount agreed upon. I have no other choice but to accept his presentation. The truth is, he made it to take advantage of my kindness. Word of honor now a days has reduced its influence. If you are reading this article, guard yourself by not yielding easily to good offers. Specially, if the said offer is guaranteed only by the said word of honor. I Miss Our Dog

Five months ago, our family was contemplating of getting a pet. We don't have anything in mind except a puppy. My brother in law wasted no time and tried to find one. He found one, and we named him Maccoy. He was a playful puppy and every morning, he would come to me, wag his tail and lick my shoes. The kids at the house ( two girls and a boy - children of my sister ) loved Maccoy, the latter is not just a joy to behold but like a toy to cuddle as well. I thought we will enjoy Maccoy's company for a long time. Two days ago, we observed something about Maccoy's actions. He doesn't want to eat as usual, and I can see weakness and tiredness in his eyes. When he looked at me, I can feel that he is in pain. My brother in law went to a veterinary doctor, and Mccoy got his injection. However, yesterday...our cute dog stopped breathing. We have to accept the fact that Mccoy is gone. I am not really fond of dogs like others, but losing Maccoy really touched me. If you have a pet at home, try to take good care of them. Enjoy them while there is an opportunity, you will never know how long will they be staying with you. ( I post a picture of Maccoy for you to see )

I almost forgot that time is running

Now a days people around the world are busy. In fact, I myself forgot many times that time is running. When I watch a good movie, listen to beautiful songs on cd or express an idea in writing, I seldom notice that time is running. It is important to note that fact, because many times we just take it for granted. If we know the value of time, we can accomplish a lot. When you are in a hurry, you can do a lot of things than when you are idle. I encourage you to feel the value of time, your day will be a fruitful one if you do.

Remembering the past

Everyone of us has a past, rich and poor, beautiful and ugly, no matter who we are, we all have a past. Look at your skin, look at your wallet, look at your friends, look at the house you are living, many have changed. Why is that? well, it is because life is a constant change. We don't know if the change in the future will favor us or not. However, if you believe in God, then for sure you know one thing that never change, it is God. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He is always there to help you. If your past is bad and you are now enjoying life, thank God for it. If your past is good and you are now experiencing pain, get closer to God, the latter can fix things up and can change your life for the better.

People Change

Before, I really thought that most people will stay good. However, when I mature in years, I realized that it is not true. Most often than not, people do change, either for the better or for worse. A change in people, in their attitude, in their lifestyle, in their economic status or in any other way is inevitable. That means, you and I will change whether we like it or not. It is already a fact that we do change, but sometimes, we seem to forget about it. It is okay to change, for we cannot help it. Nevertheless, we will try to change for the better; that is, into something that makes the world a better place to stay.

Success is not accidental

Many times I saw individuals with exceptional privileges in life. I am referring to those who have beautiful houses, expensive cars, celebrity friends and a travel anywhere in the world with the use of the internet. Having riches seem to be impossible to the majority, but to the few it is a reality. The question is, does it occur accidentally? I don't think so. I know you will agree with me that success does not popped out of nowhere; almost every success a person have is a product of hard work and persistence. Well, if you feel your income, skill and talent is not enough, don't just stay there and wish for hours; do something about it. Make a plan and act on your plan. Self-defense

There was a time in history where people were so obsessed with karate. That said time was associated with men when they were starting to wear long hair. The pants common in that era was known to be "Bell bottom". It was called that way because the end or lower portion of the pants were formed like a bell. However, I would like to emphasize the art associated with it; that is self-defense. A few months ago, I met a friend, he was in the advance age - between 75 to 80 years old, but his skill in self-defense is unique and effective. It was known through his experience that a kid of 12 to 14 years, can outdo a mature judo-master. My Writing Life

This is a new year. I decided to change the way my writing life breath. Before, I could hardly write an article in a week, it is because I waited on the good feelings I want to have when writing. Now, I will write as much as I can, if it is possible to write everyday, then that is what I am going to do. A paragraph a day or an article a day can help me improve my writing, and at the same time, can give a fresh article on my blogs as well. I want to quote a phrase I read recently, I believe this can help any aspiring writer out there, it goes "Nora Roberts, the remarkable and not uncomplicated writer who generates book after book, said in -The New Yorker - this summer, when asked for writing advice: Put your ass in the chair." Meaning, don't say, I will write this year after I get a new job, If I had the place, If I had the time. If we wait on the circumstance to appear in our favor, you can't learn how to write well; to become an expert in writing, we have to practice doing it.
